ARGON

Amongst the numerous deities worshipped by the Sulduku Heirophants, one of them is Argon, jade of skin and red of eye. In the days of antiquity, ere even the Vulkin Trade Lords came to Vanth in their steel sky-ships, Argon was spoken of in hushed whispers that are remembered not, by the people who are remembered not.  He is first mentioned by name in the tragically-unfinished Grignrsaga as an idol made of green jade, with an eye of "many-fauceted scarlet emerald".  Since the theft of the Eye by the aforementioned Grignr, it has disappeared from the annals of history.

Unlike his eye, however, Argon has continued to be a thorn in the side of barbarians and dungeon-stalkers everywhere. According to the Compendium of Avak-Horsh the Unwise, Argon is the eyeless haunter of secret passages, blind concealer of hidden treasures, empty-socketed master of traps, and eyeball-seeking nemesis of dungeon-exploreres. Argon re-sets the traps which have been tripped, obscures spells of detection, leads adventuring parties into ambushes, leaves the stoppers off of potions, spills ink on spell-books, makes confusing changes to maps, and generally makes the life of dungeon-delvers nasty, brutish, and short.  The malign and capricious fate of Lord Sarcophagus of the Forty-Three Enticements is attributed to Argon.
