These mysterious little criminals are easily identified by their coffee colored robes which seem to be their only form of apparel. Every known member of this race or sect appears to wear illuminating goggles under the hoods of their robes. Despite their small stature, the maximum height of a Java is about three feet, they have established a reputation as crude dealers in devices of advanced technology. This may be because they tend to “keep all the marbles,” at least half of all Javas encountered will possess blasters, laser handguns. Their favorite wares for their smuggling operations are previously owned robodroids, small weapons and slavery of sentient creatures. When Javas are encountered, HIDE YOUR ROBODROIDS, do not act aggressive or interested in trading with them. Aggressive action toward a Java, or group of them, is likely to result in an undesirable demonstration of the laser/vibro/energy weapons which they wish to sell. The best practice is to remain uninterested in their wares, thus they will babble unintelligibly, throw their hands up in frustration, and turn and leave.

The range of operation of Javas spans both sides of the Sea of Great Peril. West of the sea they practice their techno crimes along the trade routes of the Mercenary Coast, to the Shunned Towns. East of the sea they populate the Empire of Darth Viraxis.
