Deadly Potion of Ambrina

Page history last edited by Chris Creel 14 years, 7 months ago

The deadly potion of Ambrina; derived from the essential oils of the Jungle Flower is said to be one of the five deadliest things in the Vanthian Galaxy. More than one amateur chemist has died attempting to reproduce the Potion of Ambrina. One drop of this potion causes instant death to any animal, vegtable or mineral to unwittingly consume said drop. The victims of the potion turn into dust within an hour of their death. Thus, Ambrina is as sought after as it is deadly.  An ancient text, Warsongs of the Ape Sultans of the Mesozoic,  determined to be 1000 years old, is the oldest known reference to Ambrina and his, or her, deadly potion.

One positive use of the Potion of Ambrina was in the termination of the, equally deadly, Terrier Rat infestation.

POSTSCRIPTUM: The identity of the other four deadliest this is hotly debated; if fact, several dozen scholars have fallen prey to some of the suggested candidates. All commentators agree, however, that the deadly potion of Ambrina is one of the five (though never has it been called THE deadliest thing in the Vanthian Galaxy.)

ADDENDUM: Natives of the Amazon and Wooky Freeholds are said to distill a rare perfume from the potion, called "Jungle Lust", that is a potent aphrodesiac, used in their ceremonies; males who witness these ceremonies usually do not survive, though folk tales abound of the horrible, life-shattering experience.

Regarding the extermination of the Terrier Rat Threat: While the threat was, indeed, exterminated, the local ecology was so devatstated that 37 generations of every species in the vicinity died without progeny. --EV
